What you pay now and at the hotel

At booking you pay each room's first night, its lodging tax and a booking fee. The rest of your stay is paid to the hotel at check-in.

For guests and familiesUpdated

At booking

When you pay online, you pay for:

  • The first night of each room, at the event rate.
  • The lodging tax on that first night, at the hotel's tax rate.
  • One booking fee for the whole booking, shown as the Service fee on the checkout summary. On a booking with several rooms, it is split evenly across them.
  • Prepaid room charges, on some events only. Part of the room charge for your later nights is collected now, so the hotel collects less at check-in.

The checkout summary shows these under Due Now, and the payment page lists every amount before you pay.

At the hotel

At check-in, the hotel collects:

  • Your remaining nights.
  • The taxes on those nights.
  • Any event fees the hotel collects, such as a resort fee, and any other hotel charges.

The checkout summary shows an estimate under Due at Check-in. Your first night is already paid, so it is not part of this amount.

Example

One room for three nights at a made-up rate of $100 a night. At booking you pay $100 for the first night, plus that night's lodging tax and the booking fee. At the hotel you pay $200 for the other two nights, plus their taxes and any hotel fees.

Where to see it later

Your reservation page shows Paid at Booking, a View Receipt link for your card payment, and Estimated Due at Hotel. Your confirmation email shows the same split. See Find and manage your reservation to open it.

Common questions

Is the booking fee refundable?

Yes, if you cancel before your free-cancellation deadline: you get back everything you paid at booking for that room, including the room's share of the booking fee. After the deadline, the first night, its tax and the fee are not refunded.

Does the hotel take the booking fee off my bill?

No. The booking fee is a TEAM Solutions fee for the booking service, not a hotel charge, so it does not change what you pay at the hotel.

Is the amount due at the hotel exact?

No, it is an estimate. Taxes on your remaining nights are estimated from your first-night rate, and the final amount the hotel charges may vary slightly. Resort fees or other hotel charges may apply separately.

What is the Prepaid room charges line?

On some events, part of the room charge for the nights after your first is collected when you book, so the hotel collects less at check-in. Checkout shows it before you pay. If you later shorten your stay, the prepaid part for the nights you drop is refunded.

Are taxes included in what I pay online?

The lodging tax on your first night is included in what you pay at booking, at the hotel's tax rate. Taxes on your remaining nights are paid at the hotel. Every tax and fee is shown on the payment page before you pay.

Will the hotel charge me for the first night again?

No. Your first night is paid when you book, so the balance due at the hotel covers only your remaining nights, their taxes and any hotel fees. Bring your confirmation email in case the front desk asks.

I booked several rooms. How is the payment split?

Each room carries its own first night and its own tax, and the single booking fee is split evenly across the rooms. Each room page shows what was paid for that room, so cancelling one room refunds only that room.
